South Lake High School Track and Field had 7 girls qualify for the 4A Region 1 track meet in Jacksonville on Friday night.  These girls will be competing for a spot at the 4A State Track Championship on May 20th.  

Senior, Jordan Norwood will be representing the team in field events.  She placed 3rd at districts in Javelin, with a throw of 27.89 meters. 

In track events, South Lake will be represented in the 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles and the 4×400 relay. 

Sophomore Asia Roberts will be competing in the 200m race.  She placed 3rd at districts with a PR of 25:90.

Senior Castina Prudent will be running the 400m race.  She placed 2nd at districts with a PR of 58:10.

Freshman Jayna Hutchinson will be running the 400m hurdles race. She placed 4th at districts with a time of 1:08.71.

The girls’ relay team, made up of senior Alexandra Smith, sophomore Alexis Smith, sophomore Emily Manning and senior Castina Prudent will be running the 4x400m relay race.  They placed 2nd at districts with a time of 4:07.12.  Manning and Prudent were part of the 4×400 team that made it to states last year and are looking to have a repeat appearance.
