On Wednesday, June 14, Sunshine Book Co. held a Boozy Book Fair from 6 pm to 8 pm at Clermont Brewing Company (CBC) at 750 West DeSoto Street.
A line of enthusiastic fans started forming outside CBC on West DeSoto Street around 5:30 pm and by 6 pm, the line seemed endless, swaying all the way down 8th Street. A whopping 500+ attended the event, some with drinks in hand. A diner, who had come to CBC, jokingly remarked, “I didn’t know this many people read!”
Sunshine Book Co. owners Beth and Todd Merrick were excited about the overwhelming turnout.
Beth said she was surprised so many people attended and will definitely hold another “Boozy Book” Fair.
Members of the Board of the Cooper Memorial Library Association attended the event in support of Sunshine Book Co and their book: “Clermont: From Gem of the Hills to Choice of Champions”, a historic account that spans the Ice Age through modern-day Clermont and the years leading up to 2019.
The book is one of the top-selling books at the Sunshine Book Co. Library Board President Michelle Delaney proudly remarked that all proceeds from the sale of their book benefits Cooper Memorial Library.
