The Way Academy, 105 East Baker Street, Minneola, enjoyed its first day of the new school year with an opening day ribbon-cutting sponsored by the South Lake Chamber of Commerce.

The new school is open to grades 6-8 and is designed to provide a stellar Christian education to all levels of students, focusing on narrowing the achievement and opportunity gaps for students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. “Our goal is to graduate a new generation of Christian leaders, that are high-functioning citizens in our community, that are college and/ or career ready,” says Dr. Charles Williams, Founder of The Way Academy.

Dr. Williams founded the school by creating a Christ-centered private school in Lake County. The school’s mission is geared toward all students to grow spiritually, academically, and athletically.

The Academy is currently seeking qualified volunteers that are skilled in teaching and coaching in the following areas; art, music, theater, financial literacy, production, digital design, computer science, foreign language, agriculture, woodworking, athletic coaches, and substitute teachers.
