November 28th is a global giving opportunity for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to raise money, like Give A Day Foundation’s Champion Circle. Middle and high school years are tough for a teen. Add the struggles with reading, mathematics and science to their lives, it’s very traumatic. Teachers are stretched thin. There are many single-parent households, and they too are stretched thin.

Give A Day Foundation’s Champion Circle will be kicking off 2024 with a new tutoring program for our Champion boys, ages 14-19 here in our community. We will provide professional tutors who specialize in the art of one-on-one, hands-on learning. This will allow students who are struggling, the ability to concentrate and solve specific problems with custom sessions addressing their needs. Professional Tutors also track the progress of each student. The hourly rate for tutors is $52 per child for 75 sessions for one month. Students also travel to their tutoring location. This not only instills accountability, but a learning environment without distractions.

Donations on Giving Tuesday will not only help with tutoring costs but travel arrangements for students who don’t have means of transportation.

Most criminal careers begin in childhood or early adolescence, between the ages of 8 and 14. Helping and preparing boys for a positive and productive adulthoods is not only essential for them, it’s vital and helps eliminate criminal activity in our community.
