The 2024 Tip-A-Cop fundraising program gets kicked off on Wednesday, January 24, when Clermont Police officers will be ready to greet and serve your favorite meal at Texas Roadhouse, 2457 S. U. S. Highway 27, from 4 to 8 pm. 

Tip-A-Cop is an event designed by Special Olympics that pairs local law officers with popular restaurants to raise money and awareness of the Law Enforcement Torch Run program that benefits Special Olympics Florida. 

Headquartered in Clermont, Special Olympics Florida is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that provides year-round sports training and competitions for 51,000 adults and children with intellectual disabilities at no cost to the athlete or their family. 

The organization promotes physical fitness, self-esteem and life skills needed to be productive, respected and contributing members of the community. 

Other dates and restaurants include: 

• Feb. 12 – Outback Steakhouse, 1625 E. Highway 50 

• March 13 – Texas Roadhouse, 2457 S. U. S. Highway 27 

• April 1- Miller’s Ale House, 1555 S. Grand Highway 

Clermont Police Command Staff and several police officers will work with the professional wait staff at each of the eateries to greet, seat and serve restaurant patrons. In addition to tips, the restaurants also donate a percentage of food sales during the event.
