For the fourth year, Clermont Police will lead the way for the growing event that raises dollars and awareness to assist area law enforcement officers who are impacted by the dangers of their profession.

The “Honoring the Fallen 5K” will be held on Saturday, February 24 with a start time of 5:30 p.m. The footrace will start and end at Suncreek Brewery, 790 W. Minneola
Avenue. The event was introduced in 2021 as a way to honor and celebrate a Clermont Police Officer who died in 2020 and 75 people signed up to run. Now in its fourth year, the event was renamed in 2022 to honor all impacted officers, and organizers expect more
than 300 participants this year. Runners and walkers will follow the South Lake Trail to Lake Hiawatha Preserve and loop back along Lake Minneola in downtown Clermont.

Each finisher will receive a race t-shirt, medal, and, post-race refreshments from the brewery. Memorial flag sponsorships return this year to honor the home state of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. State flags are available for $50 and will be placed along the racecourse. All proceeds go to assist law enforcement officers and their
families in critical times.

Special thanks to the Kiwanis of South Lake, Concerns of Police Survivors and Code 4
Initiative whose support makes this special event possible.
