Clermont Garden Club
The Clermont Garden Club’s Yard of the Month for May 2024 is the home of Sterling Frey at 1647 1st Street in Clermont, FL. The front yard has the most spectacular display of gigantic StagHorn Ferns (platycerium bifurcatum) suspended by chains from the many oak trees on the property.
A unique Brazilian grape tree (jaboticaba) yields purplish-black edible fruit that grows directly on the trunk of the tree (not on the branches). The backyard (facing Knapp Street) features a ‘Secret Garden’ with garden sculptures, windchimes and an aviary that houses exotic birds and wildlife. The beautiful yard provides a peaceful retreat.
Clermont Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Club members meet monthly (September through May) at the clubhouse located at 849 West Avenue, Clermont, FL. New members and guests are warmly welcome.
More information will come soon about the club’s 19th Garden Tour scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024 when beautiful, private local residential gardens can be viewed and visited.
