The City of Groveland warmly invites residents to join in a heartfelt event, “A Morning of Commemorating Our Heroes,” on Monday, May 27. The commemoration will take place from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at the E.L. Puryear Building and Veterans Park, located at 243 S. Lake Ave., Groveland.

The morning will begin with an invocation at 8:10 am, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the event. Following the invocation, veterans and one guest are invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast at 8:15 am, providing an opportunity for community bonding and gratitude.

At 8:35 am, attendees will gather to hear from a distinguished guest speaker. This segment will include a pinning ceremony to honor our veterans for their service and sacrifice. This moment is set to be a poignant reminder of the courage and dedication of our armed forces.

The ceremony will then move to Veterans Park at 8:45 am for a series of tributes. The South Lake High School Color Guard will present the colors, while the Patriot Guard Riders will be on hand to pay their respects. Cornerstone Hospice will also be participating, offering support and honoring the memories of fallen heroes. Adding to the solemnity and reverence of the ceremony, Linda Charlton will perform on the bagpipes.

“A Morning of Commemorating Our Heroes” promises to be a meaningful occasion for the Groveland community to honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our nation. The event organizers encourage all residents to come out and show their appreciation and support for our veterans.
