The 11th annual Clermont Caribbean Jerk Festival is set for Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 12 to 9 p.m. The free family-friendly cultural event is presented by the Caribbean American Association of Lake County (CAALC) at Clermont’s Waterfront Park (330 3rd Street, Clermont, FL 34711). CAALC supports the Lake Steel Orchestra and raises funds for scholarships given to Lake County high school seniors.
The event features all things Caribbean, from jerk-style chicken and pork, roti, curry, tropical drinks, and island treats to live music that will make you feel joyfully relaxed and mindful. The sounds of reggae, calypso, chutney, salsa, merengue and rhythms of the islands will have you dancing. The steel drums from the Lake Steel Orchestra will be heard throughout the event.
Other activities throughout the event include a limbo contest, dance lessons, domino games, a petting zoo, and kid’s zone. The event will also feature an alluring Island Flag Parade showcasing many Caribbean countries and their culture, making you feel like part of each community.
