The 2024 Hurricane Season has arrived and the City of Clermont has revamped its resources webpage to ease communications during storms.

Please visit https://www.clermontfl.gov/434/Get-Storm-Ready-Now and bookmark the page! With an above-average hurricane season that is expected to produce 17 to 25 named storms, providing accurate information in a timely fashion is key to helping Clermont weather the storm season. The enhanced webpage provides important information applicable before, during and after a storm. If a weather system develops, and a local emergency is declared, this page will be constantly updated for the duration of the event with storm updates, special alerts and expected impacts for Clermont and Lake County. Florida offers two tax-free holidays specifically designed to encourage residents to think about their emergency preparations and buy supplies before any storms develops.

Taxfree holidays are June 1-14 and August 24 through September 6. For a full list of what is included, visit https://www.floridadisaster.org/

While Clermont is not beachfront and instead boasts hills and lakes, hurricane season should be taken seriously and early preparation is the first step and best way to get started.
