On the HOT sunny morning of July 4th, Downtown Clermont was filled with excitement as the annual Freedom 5K kicked off at 7:30 am. The event, beginning at 490 West Ave, attracted a lively crowd of family and friends who came together to run, walk, and celebrate the spirit of freedom and fitness,

Each participant was rewarded with a custom medal, a memento of his/her achievement and participation in the celebration of Independence Day.

The race concluded at SunCreek Brewery, where finishers were greeted with cold watermelon, refreshing beverages, and an array of post-race snacks. It was a perfect start to the day’s festivities filled with parties, hamburgers, hot dogs, apple pie, ice cream and fireworks.

The Freedom 5K promoted physical fitness and patriotism, making it an appropriate kick-off of Independence Day celebrations in the South Lake community.
