The Live Well Foundation of South Lake

The Live Well Foundation of South Lake is thrilled to announce the addition of two distinguished members to our Board of Directors: Jose M Rubio, Jr. and Dr. Nancy H. Cummings. Both bring a wealth of experience and a strong sense of community, representing both the history and the future of South Lake.

Dr. Nancy H. Cummings of Cummings Collaborative is a visionary leader with diverse executive experience. She excels in strategic planning, organizational transformation, and stakeholder engagement. Nancy earned her EdD from the University of Central Florida, an MEd from Valdosta State University, and a BS from the University of Florida. She also holds a certificate in Executive Change Leadership from Cornell University. Nancy’s noteworthy career includes 28 years supporting our national and Olympic teams with athletic training and sports science expertise, as well as 15 years of executive leadership in higher education.

Jose M. Rubio, Jr. was born in Michoacan, Mexico, and has been a Lake County resident since 1981. A graduate of Groveland High School and attendee of Lake Sumter State College, Jose’s journey from the child of immigrant parents to a successful entrepreneur embodies the American Dream. With a relentless work ethic, he built a business empire that spans over 12 entities.

Jose is the CEO and partner of Del Sol Investments, a real estate investment company, and serves as Investments and Financial Officer for Mexland Corporation. He also owns and partners with multiple other investment entities. His community involvement includes roles as Chairman for Groveland Works, and founding board member of HOLCA. Previously, he served as Vice President and founding board member for Mascotte Elementary Charter School, advisor to the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, and advisor to the Lake County Affordable Housing Committee.
