Orlando Health National Training Center will hold lifeguard courses this fall that offer entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies.

The nationally recognized curriculum provided by the American Red Cross will also teach participants how to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.

September sessions will take place on the following dates. Participants must attend all four sessions to receive certification. The cost to take the course is $250.

  • Thursday, Sept. 5 from 5-9 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 6 from 5-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 7 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 8 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

October sessions will take place on the following dates. Participants must attend all four sessions to receive certification. The cost to take the course is $250.

  • Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5-9 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 11 from 5-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Orlando Health National Training Center is a state-of-the-art sports complex that includes athletic fields, a 70-meter x 25-yard aquatic center, 400-meter outdoor track and field complex and cross country course. It is located at 1935 Don Wickham Dr. in Clermont.
