Guru Indian Restaurant was founded in 2014 by Master Chef Uday Kadam in Clermont after he owned award-winning restaurants in Orlando and across Florida. Started in September 2014, Kadam credits his many loyal clients for his success. While Guru strives to best serve the local community with delicious foods and superb quality service; they have had many locals as well as numerous respected dignitaries, celebrities, athletes, and politicians as guests. Every Guru Indian Restaurant dine-in experience starts with a complimentary welcome dish of Pappadam chips, served with onion and sweet mango chutney as a gift. They always ask you for your desired tastes and spice levels. Each dish is created the way you want it flavored from mild or normal, to medium or hot and extra spicy. Their 6 Biryani specialties are tender meat and basmati rice combinations from Hyderabadi. They offer numerous tasty side orders like Sweet Mango Chutney, Raita, and Pappdam. They offer a large assortment of various entrees; 17 of which are vegetable delights and 8 of which many are created as vegan dishes.
For dessert, they offer homemade mango and pistachio ice creams, Rice Pudding, Gulab Jamun, and Ras Malai. Ice-cold beers and a variety of wines are available to enhance any meal. One of the favorite refreshment treats is their cold Mango Lassi smoothie, while others enjoy Indian Chai Tea, sodas, or ice water. All 10 delicious varieties of naan bread are cooked fresh for you in clay ovens.

Uday Kadam is from a small village 300 miles south of Mumbai, India. His father was a teacher; and Kadam’s first ‘Guru.’ While Kadam attended college in Bombay, he worked at the famous Taj Mahal Hotel restaurant. He studied and worked under the talents of many respected restaurant chef gurus, who taught and encouraged him in what would become his life’s most desired profession. He started his professional career as a manager for Marriott Hotel restaurants in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt before coming to work in the United States in 1982. Kadam has over 40 years of experience as a respected top chef in the professional restaurant business in the USA. Here in Orlando, he was a food and beverage manager working at the Disney Polynesian. Kadam notes, “The word Guru means ‘Master’ and ‘A Sharing Teacher.’ Growing up, I was fortunate to work for and learn from the best of the best at Marriott and Disney!”
