Dr. Heather Bigard has submitted her resignation as the President of Lake-Sumter State College, effective immediately, citing personal reasons to focus on her health and family.
“I have truly enjoyed working with our talented faculty and staff, and most of all, [working with] our students,” Bigard noted.
“We remain committed to our mission of providing an excellent educational opportunity to students in Lake and Sumter Counties,” said Bret Jones, Chair of the District Board of Trustees. “We thank Dr. Bigard for her service to Lake-Sumter State College.”
The District Board of Trustees will hold its scheduled meeting on Friday, Aug. 30, to appoint an interim president.
