Tavares Stadium: The Tavares Bulldogs jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first quarter failing on a two-point conversion. The Eagles would respond driving the ball down to the Bulldog 30-yard line. The Tavares defense would stiffen up and the Eagles would settle for a 35-yard field goal by junior Chris McKenna making the score 6-3 at the end of the first quarter.

The Eagles and Bulldogs defenses would then take over limiting both offenses. Tre Kelly would find Izaiah Henderson on a couple of long balls midway through the second quarter. Kelly would then find Tyger Darden in the end zone and Mckenna would make the extra point giving the Eagle 10-6 lead at the half.

Both defenses played hard early in the third quarter limiting each offense. Towards the end of the third quarter, a poor snap by the Tavares long snapper went over the punters head setting the Eagles up at the Tavares 12-yard line. Junior Malik Holman would then power into the end zone and the McKenna extra point would put the Eagles ahead 17-6 late in the third quarter.

Tavares power game then came alive with some strong runs driving the ball down to the Eagle’s five-yard line Two plays later they would plunge in cutting the lead to 17-12.

South Lake would stuff the two-point try keeping the score 17-12. Tavares would get the ball back twice and the Eagle Defense would stand strong. The Eagle offense would then draw the bulldog defense offsides securing the victory.
