As part of an ongoing commitment to promoting education and literacy across its footprint, The Bojangles Foundation has opened applications to its annual grant program, benefitting 50 organizations and nonprofits dedicated to the shared cause with $1,000 scholarships.

Beginning Sept. 1 and running through Sept. 30, the Bojangles Foundation will accept applications from any groups who are working to foster learning and reading in their communities. The applications will be reviewed by a committee and the list of 50 recipients will be announced later this year. Interested charitable organizations with a focus on literacy can learn more and apply at www.Bojangles.com/foundation.

“We know there are so many deserving individuals and organizations tirelessly working to improve education for our future generations, so our grant program was created to impact as many of them as possible,” said Ken Reynolds, executive director of the Bojangles Foundation. “We know every dollar counts, and we’re hopeful for all of the opportunity these gifts will bring to our students.”

The Bojangles Foundation also continues to recognize and reward excellent teachers across its communities who are going above and beyond for their students via state-sanctioned Teacher of the Year programming. Through its partnership, The Bojangles Foundation donates books to all district teachers of the year nominees, gives each teacher a gift card and awards a cash prize to the teacher of the year. Beginning this school year, Bojangles recently expanded its sponsorship to include the state of Tennessee. It now will have sponsored Teacher of the Year programs in North Carolina for four years, South Carolina for 16 years and Georgia for two years. In total, the Foundation has donated more than 38,000 books to countless schools across the southeastern region.

The Bojangles Foundation Fund was established in July 2022, to support the three pillars of Bojangles’ corporate social responsibility plan: literacy, military appreciation and strengthening community. The fund is a component of Foundation For The Carolinas, which manages competitive grant programs that invest in communities throughout the region.
