By Mary Helen Myers, Tuscanooga Baptist Church

Prior to the arrival of Hurricane Milton, members of the Tuscanooga Baptist Church, located at 18540 Tuscanooga Road, Groveland, were busy receiving donations for victims of Hurricane Helene. After donations were sorted and placed in categories, a trailer was loaded for transport to locations in Georgia.  The first trailer load left early Sunday morning October 6.

The church thanked the many in the community who have generously brought food, clothing, and other needed supplies, to the church. The outpouring of love shown through this effort has been phenomenal!  In addition to clothing for all ages, a need remains for cleaning supplies, toiletries and hygiene supplies, baby supplies and pull-tab canned goods.

Sunday afternoon, October 13, another team, focused on Disaster Relief, left Tuscanooga Baptist Church for Hazelhurst, Georgia.  This team will be comprised of men who will be involved in the clearing of trees and debris, along with team members (both men and women) who will be preparing meals for an anticipated 400 people three times a day.

For more information, call the church office at 352-429-3230.
