Brendan Richmond, the Director of Destination Universal for Universal Destinations and Experiences, delivered an exciting keynote presentation at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce Holiday Breakfast. He described unveiling details about Universal’s highly anticipated 750-acre theme park, slated to open in 2025. This new destination will feature five immersive themed areas and three luxurious hotels, offering guests a magical blend of adventure, storytelling, and cutting-edge attractions.

Brendan provided a glimpse into the new themed areas:

Celestial Park – The heart of the park, Celestial Park, is a central hub adorned with lush gardens and celestial-themed motifs inspired by astrology and astronomical equipment. This area will connect the other four themed zones and house the Helios Grand Hotel. Signature attractions include a mesmerizing Carousel and a thrilling Dueling Launch Coaster.

Dark Universe – Step into the eerie Darkmoor Village within the Dark Universe zone, where the legacy of monster-making continues under the expertise of Victoria Frankenstein, a descendant of Henry Frankenstein. Guests can enjoy a spinning coaster, a unique makeup experience, and the innovative RoboCoaster blends technology and thrills.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk – Fans will delight in exploring the Isle of Berk. This vibrant area boasts three engaging rides: Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, an Interactive Boat Ride, and Sky Fly, providing guests with exhilarating adventures straight out of the movies.

Super Nintendo World – Dive into the colorful universe of Nintendo in Super Nintendo World. This area highlights iconic Nintendo franchises, with a primary focus on Mario. Attractions include an Augmented Reality Dark Ride, the high-speed Mine Cart Madness, and an Omnimover ride titled Yoshi’s Adventure, designed for all ages.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic – Transporting guests to 1920s Paris, this Wizarding World expansion centers around the Ministry of Magic. The area will feature two standout attractions: Le Cirque Arcanus and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, an immersive motion simulator experience.

Beyond the Attractions – The park’s three hotels, including the flagship Helios Grand Hotel, promise an extraordinary stay, blending comfort and thematic storytelling to enhance the guest experience.

Visitors can look forward to stepping into worlds of wonder and imagination like never before.

Members of the Chamber took a moment to honor Sheri Olsen, the outgoing chairperson, for her outstanding contributions throughout the year. As a token of appreciation, Sheri was given a gift from the Chamber  The gesture was a testament to the gratitude felt by her colleagues for the exceptional leadership and dedication she brought to her role.
