The Lake County government will open a cold-weather shelter at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, at LifePointe Church in Eustis to assist residents vulnerable to freezing temperatures. The shelter will close at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5.
 
Residents needing travel accommodations to the cold weather shelter should call Lake County Connection at (352) 742-2612 by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, to arrange for transportation. For information on Cold Weather Shelter Shuttle routes, please visit https://ridelakexpress.com/shelters.
