The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) today announces its next Access for All event in partnership with the Art Bridges Foundation, offering free admission to the museum from 10 am to 8 pm on Thursday, January 16. This program represents a long-term commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility in the arts. OMA continuously works toward deconstructing barriers and creating a welcoming space for all members of the community to experience the inspirational power of art.
“Access for All events are vital to ensure that art is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background or status,” said Cathryn Mattson, CEO of the Orlando Museum of Art. “This initiative is made possible due to our enduring partnership with, and the generous support of, the Art Bridges Foundation.”
The January 16 event will feature a Gallery Talk – an informal talk through the gallery – at 2:30 pm in English then at 3:30 pm in Spanish. There will also be Sketching in the Galleries taking place from 5-7 pm, followed by a Highlights Tour at 7 pm. Guests are also encouraged to view the museum’s Torn Apart: Punk exhibition before it’s over on February 2.
“Art has the extraordinary ability to transcend boundaries, evoke emotion, and spark conversations,” said Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon, Chief Curator of the Orlando Museum of Art. “At OMA, we aim to create an inclusive environment where all people can experience the infinite possibilities of creativity and find common ground in our differences.”
In addition to free admission, Access for All events feature guided tours and enriching gallery activities, providing visitors with opportunities to engage with art in a variety of ways. All are welcome to attend and experience the beauty and wonder of art in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
