Thrive Clermont, in partnership with the City of Groveland, is hosting an educational job fair for high school students. Thrive’s Land Your First Job Event will benefit students whether they are learning about employment options for the future, currently seeking part time work, or looking for full-time work post-high school graduation.

This free event will be held on February 12, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Nathaniel Community Gymnasium on the campus of Hope Preparatory Academy located at 13806 SR-33, Groveland, Fl, 34736.  High school students from any school and their families are invited to attend. The first 100 high school students registered through Thrive Clermont’s website will get a free dinner voucher and meal purchases will be available for parents, siblings, or others. There will be FREE ice cream for all in attendance.

Thrive’s Executive Director, Sheri Lewin, is pleased to offer this event for the second year to support both the employers and the students in the community.  “We have received feedback from teens in our programs that they are often unsure of where to start in the job-hunting process. Also, the growing pool of employers in our region are consistently seeking local talent. We have designed this event to help meet these needs in our area and are thrilled to partner with the City of Groveland on this effort”.

“It is important to offer opportunities for our residents and employers to connect face to face” says Groveland Mayor Keith Keogh. “This event offers education and connections for our high school students, who are a key part of our future workforce.”

Employers in attendance include: Cherrylake Inc, Amazon, City of Groveland, Lake County Correctional Facilities, Disney, Woodard & Curran, AdventHealth, South Lake Hospital, Culver’s, Lake County Sheriff’s Office and more!

Please email admin@thriveclermont.org if you are an employer who would like to participate with a table at the event.

Land Your First Job Event with 15+ Central Florida employers, offers hundreds of job opportunities for high school students (and their families).  In addition to the job fair, this event also offers high school students the chance to receive individual mentoring and help with resumes and interview skills. Presentations about paycheck deductions and current labor laws will also be offered.

Obline registration for Land Your First Job on February 12 is open for students ages 13-18 at www.thriveclermont.org . Onsite registration will also be available.
