During a recent Clermont City Council meeting, an applicant representing a 22-acre parcel located on SR 50, east of Magnolia Pointe Blvd, sought approval to expand dining options within the Magnolia Pointe Center. The proposal includes the addition of five fast-food restaurants, four of which will be situated within Lot 3 of the property.
Currently, a Dunkin’ Donuts operates on the site. The applicant has proposed the construction of a new 7,000-square-foot building that will house three fast-food restaurants, as well as a Twistee Treat drive-thru restaurant.
Twistee Treat, widely recognized for its 25-foot-tall fiberglass cone buildings, specializes in a variety of ice cream treats, including cones, cups, shakes, malts, sundaes, banana splits, and specialty desserts such as the brownie boat and waffle taco.
The applicant emphasized that this amendment would improve Magnolia Pointe Center’s ability to serve the surrounding community by offering a greater variety of dining choices and added convenience. City staff reviewed the proposal and approved the changes, stating that the new establishments would not negatively impact surrounding properties. The planned integration of these restaurants within the existing commercial layout ensures a seamless fit with the area’s ongoing development.
The expansion of Magnolia Pointe Center, particularly with the inclusion of Twistee Treat and other fast-food options, will reinforce its status as a vibrant commercial hub in Clermont. The newly approved dining additions are anticipated to provide more choices for residents and visitors, further enriching the local food scene.
