Barbara was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives she touched. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Bill; her children Cheri Beck (Ed) of Virginia, Eric Eyerly (Kim) of Florida, and Shelley Eyerly of Georgia; her grandchildren, Mandy Johnson (Michael), Emily Beck, Jakob Eyerly, and Maddie Furnas (Grant); and her great granddaughter, Charlie Furnas.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. Passionate about education, Barbara taught high school and junior college English, and junior college computer courses. She was a lifelong member of the PEO sisterhood, following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother. Barbara was devoted to her card ministry for over 40 years, ensuring that birthdays, illnesses, losses, and any other occasions within the church, the Masonic Lodge, PEO, and the community were not forgotten.
She loved traveling with Bill, whether overseas or around the US in their RV. Barbara was always ahead of her time, from becoming a private pilot in the 1950s to embracing computers in the early 1980s when the technology first began to enter office and home usage.
