What is AI, and how can it help you with your research?  The technology we call (AI) Artificial Intelligence is used in machines and computers to simulate activities done by humans.  In some cases, AI can learn, comprehend, problem-solve and make decisions. It can also learn from its mistakes.  By leveraging AI, you can tap into the functions that will best suit your needs. This cutting-edge technology can transcribe documents, decipher different languages and, in some cases, interpret handwritten documents.  Forms of AI have been used to breathe life into photos by editing, repairing, and even transforming your photograph into a video of your ancestor moving and speaking to you, as in the MyHeritage ©DeepStory program.

Some people use AI to enhance their writing and analyze data. It all seems very Sci-fi. However, it’s crucial to understand that AI is simply a sophisticated set of algorithms designed to optimize an outcome. AI offers a myriad of possibilities for enhancing your research capabilities, but what program do you choose, and how do you use it to your advantage? Join us on April 10th as Ellen Thompson-Jennings takes us down the road of how to use Artificial Intelligence for Genealogy Research.

Speaker; Ellen Thompson-Jennings is the self-proclaimed Family History Hound. She has been interested in genealogy since her teens when she interviewed her great-grandmother.

Ellen loves the thrill of the hunt, so it is appropriate her blog is called; Hound on the Hunt. She will tell you that her three passions are: genealogy, genetic genealogy (DNA), and preserving her family photo legacy and she loves to share what she has learned with others.

Pastfinders is excited to allow you to see this free program on April 10th.  There are two ways to attend. By Zoom or in Person at the Cooper Memorial Library.  The library offers refreshments starting at 4:00 pm Eastern Time.  The program starts at 4:30 with announcements and Ellen will give her AI presentation at 5:00 pm.  If attending on Zoom, you must register via the link on our website and log-on by 4:30 pm.  This presentation will be recorded and available to society members for 45 days on our website.
