Lake-Sumter State College recently announced its new Beach Volleyball Complex on the Leesburg Campus as the new home of the College’s Beach Volleyball team. The complex consists of six championship-quality courts that are sanctioned by USA Volleyball. The costs for the design and construction of this complex were provided as a gift to the LSSC Foundation.
On Thursday, March 20 at 9 am, Lake Sumter State College Leadership held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new courts near LSSC Leesburg Campus by the Kelly Convocation Center, 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg. Beach Volleyball matches followed at 10 am and 2 pm.
The LSSC Women’s Beach Volleyball team is in its sixth season and competes in the FCSAA and NJCAA. The team has two top 5 finishes in the NJCAA National Championship, finished twice as the runner-up in the state championships, and produced 8 All-American student-athletes.
