Matching donations benefit the Youth Construction Academy students
In March, all donations made to Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter will be matched by RoMac Building Supply. The $20,000 matching challenge funds the Youth Construction Academy, making it possible for students to build a home with Habitat Lake-Sumter.
Those interested in donating during the RoMac Match period can do so by going to www.habitatls.org/give or by mail to 1806 S Bay St, Eustis FL 32726.
Habitat’s Youth Construction Academy offers selected high school students from Leesburg High, Eustis High, Wildwood Middle High, South Lake High, and The Villages Charter School access to trades within the construction industry. Graduating students gain first-hand experience of principles taught in the classroom and hold industry certifications necessary for a career.
“Don Magruder, CEO of RoMac Building Supply, has continued to invest in the future of the students and the growth of the Youth Construction Academy program,” says Danielle Stroud, CEO at Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter. “The success of the students and the homes built are made possible because of RoMac Building Supply’s support and the community members who meet the match challenge every March.”
Participating students receive in-class instruction and get an opportunity that takes them out of the classroom and onto Habitat’s job site. To learn more about this program or any of Habitat for Humanity’s programs, contact Lacie at 352-483-0434 Ext. 146.
