Lake-Sumter State College has officially opened registration for its highly anticipated Kids’ College 2025, a dynamic summer enrichment program designed to engage students from 1st through 12th grade in exciting, hands-on learning experiences. Hosted at both the LSSC Leesburg and LSSC South Lake campuses, Kids’ College offers a unique college-preparation opportunity for local youth during the summer months of June and July.
Unlike traditional summer camps that follow a set schedule, Kids’ College allows students and their families to customize their schedules by selecting from a wide array of classes — just like in college. From Painting and Dance to Flag Football, Junior Authors, and Lego Challenges, the diverse course offerings are designed to spark creativity, build skills, and promote independent learning. All classes are led by paid instructors who are experts in their fields, including many certified local teachers who return year after year to support this meaningful program.
Three two-week “semesters” are available:
-
Semester A: June 16 – 26, 2025
-
Semester B: July 7 – 17, 2025
-
Semester C: July 21 – 31, 2025
Each student may register for either half-day (two classes) or full-day (four classes) sessions. Tuition is $70 per class, with a half-day costing $140 and a full-day priced at $280. This fee includes registration, two Kids’ College t-shirts, and a welcome packet complete with a student ID.
New in 2025 is the Kids’ College Schedule Creator, a digital tool that allows families to pre-plan their student’s course schedule by exploring semester dates, class periods, and available offerings. This tool can be accessed through the Kids’ College Website and is especially helpful before entering the registration portal.
In addition to traditional programming, LSSC offers specialized opportunities such as the Healthcare Exploration Camp, designed for students in grades 6-9. This camp introduces middle schoolers to the health science field through engaging, hands-on activities led by educators and local healthcare professionals.
High school students can also get involved through the Leaders-in-Training (LIT) Program, which provides leadership development, financial literacy training, and volunteer hours. The LIT program application deadline is April 30.
Kids’ College culminates in a final day of student-led presentations and performances, highlighting the growth and creativity of each participant. Through this experience, LSSC continues its mission of building a college-going culture at an early age.
Scholarships are available to assist with tuition, and applications can be found on the program’s website. The registration deadline is June 2, 2025.
