On a beautiful April weekend, the Clermont Garden Club successfully held its 19th Garden Walk. The Garden Walk is the club’s ongoing tradition for club members and the public to tour and enjoy beautiful private residential gardens in and around Clermont. The residences featured at this Garden Walk were selected from the club’s monthly Yard-of-The-Month. This year’s Garden Walk featured 5 unique gardens and landscapes. One garden featured a lush collection of native and pollinator plants to help “feed the bees”. Another yard was festooned with 45 gigantic staghorn ferns on majestic shade trees, and the yard was decorative with rainbow eucalyptus trees, garden sculptures and antiques, a koi pond, as well as 2 aviaries that house exotic birds and animals. Yet another yard featured multiple fruit trees bursting with mangos, papayas, Japanese pears, loquats, carambola (i.e., starfruit) and Surinam cherries. Attendees at this year’s Garden Walk (some coming from as far as The Villages and Dunnellon) were truly awed by the horticulture beauty.
The Garden Walk is the Club’s main fundraiser for the year, and proceeds go to garden club charities. The Clermont Garden Club is grateful to the following who generously sponsored the Garden Walk:
