Members of the South Lake Florida Submarine Veterans (SubVets) recently made a generous donation to support local families by providing more than 100 cartons of cereal to The Neighborhood Center. The contribution will supply over 600 meals to children in the community during the summer months when school-provided meals are unavailable.
The donation comes at a critical time, as many families face increased food insecurity while children are on summer break. The Neighborhood Center, a vital resource for South Lake residents, will distribute the cereal to ensure that children have access to nutritious breakfasts throughout the season.
“We’re proud to support the work of The Neighborhood Center and help ensure that no child goes hungry during the summer,” said a spokesperson for the South Lake SubVets. “Our members are committed to giving back to the community that supports us.”
The South Lake Florida SubVets are part of a national organization of U.S. Navy submarine veterans dedicated to camaraderie, remembrance, and service. Their recent donation highlights the group’s ongoing commitment to community involvement and helping those in need.
