Michell’s Tropical Treats celebrated their first-year anniversary with a special party and a community celebration. With dozens of local dignitaries, celebrities, family and friends in attendance, Michell’s Tropical Treats opened on Friday, May 30 with a beautiful day in Groveland while sharing big free homemade ice cream scoop choosing from 32 delicious flavors, with a sparkling cider toast. Owners Mitchell, Darien, and Kesha Hill welcomed everyone, coupled with prayers by Pastor McCoy, speeches, presentations, and a variety of sweet treats.
Michell’s Tropical Treats is a unique Caribbean inspired tropical treats parlor, set amidst tropical theme décor colors and artwork with Caribbean music.
Mitchell Hill shared, “We are so proud and thankful to be celebrating our first-year anniversary with our community and customers! We are very pleased that the diverse Groveland, Mascotte Clermont, and South Lake community came out to support us. This anniversary marks a full year of creative growth, success and transformation for us and our customers. Our ice cream treat menu has been expanded with numerous new handmade Caribbean and boozy flavors served in cups and cones as well as new milkshakes, sundaze, brownies, cookies, and a variety of beverages. We now offer Ice Cream Flights, Ice Cream Nachos, and a larger variety of extra special toppings. Most importantly, we look forward to continuing to share happiness and dreams served in every scoop!”
The dream and vision for opening this family business was in the makings for over 13 years. Mitchell Hill noted how ‘Michell’s’ was named to honor his mother. His mother always called him ‘Michell’ since she had a challenge pronouncing ‘t’s.’
Mitchell Hill is also President of the Caribbean American Association of Lake County, who will be hosting the Clermont Caribbean Jerk Festival on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at the Clermont Waterfront Park.
Michell’s Tropical Treats is open from noon to 8 pm Tuesday through Sunday, closed on Mondays. They are located at the corner of Route 50 West at 101 East Broad Street in Groveland, FL.
