Beta Theta-ESA, a local service and philanthropic organization, has been supporting the community for over 45 years. One of its primary missions is awarding scholarships to students at Lake-Sumter State College, helping them prepare for future academic and professional success. This year Beta Theta-ESA is proud to announce Terrece Little and Kenneth Anders as recipients of the Beta Theta scholarships which are given each year to students at or entering Lake Sumter State College.

Terrece Little, a dedicated and passionate nursing student, was selected for her academic commitment and heartfelt pursuit of a career in healthcare.

Nursing education is both academically demanding and financially challenging. Students like Terrece are required to cover a wide range of expenses including tuition fees, textbooks, lab supplies, uniforms, and the costs associated with clinical placements. For Terrece, these financial demands have been a significant burden, making the support of this scholarship especially meaningful.

In addition to the classroom curriculum, nursing programs require rigorous hands-on training through clinical placements, which are essential to preparing students for real-world healthcare settings. The Beta Theta scholarship will help ease the financial strain of this comprehensive training, allowing Terrece to focus more fully on her studies and clinical experiences.

Kenneth Anders is currently enrolled as a full-time student, working diligently to complete his prerequisite courses in preparation for entering the Medical Laboratory Technology program.

Kenneth expressed gratitude for the scholarship, noting that it significantly eases his financial burden and reinforces his hope for a successful future. “This scholarship helps reduce the stress of paying for school, so I can stay focused on my goals,” he shared.

With aspirations to become a Medical Laboratory Technician, Kenneth is driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field. “As a Medical Lab Tech, I’ll be on the front lines helping to prevent the spread of disease,” he said.

The women of Beta Theta congratulate Kenneth and Terrece on their dedication and honored to support their educational journey and future contributions to public health.
