The Florida Department of Corrections will be hosting the 3rd Annual “Back-to-School Bash” on Saturday, July 26th, from 10 am -1 pm at East Ridge High School, 13322 Excalibur Road, Clermont.
This year’s event will include a food give-away provided in partnership with Farm Share. Last year’s event provided food to over 300 families with no questions asked. This year’s event is planned to realize similar results in a time when grocery prices are still at unprecedented levels in many of the required daily allowance categories for healthy eating.
Free backpacks will be provided as well as free student physicals that are required for some school-related extracurricular activities such as sports. Haircuts for both girls and boys will be provided at no charge while various local public safety agencies give safety advice and school year giveaways.
The event is partnered with the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency (FCCD), Chapter 27. The FCCD is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of high professional standards for criminal justice agencies and criminal justice personnel.
