Beta Theta – ESA, a philanthropic organization dedicated to giving back to the South Lake community, recently paid a visit to the Neighborhood Center of South Lake to present a generous donation in support of the Center’s vital mission. The contribution is part of Beta Theta’s ongoing commitment to helping local organizations make a meaningful impact in the lives of area residents.
The Neighborhood Center of South Lake, led by Executive Director Patricia Kry, is more than just a food pantry—it is a Family Stability Center that works holistically with clients and community partners to help families achieve self-sufficiency. Through education, support services, and access to nutritious food, the Center provides a lifeline for those navigating economic hardship.
The Healthy Food Pantry is open to current clients Tuesday through Friday each week. Clients can select from a wide variety of fresh, healthy options including fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, grains, and breads. As a designated Healthy Food Pantry, over 80% of all food distributed is fresh or minimally processed, helping to ensure families are nourished in both body and mind.
Staples such as canned goods, shelf-stable milk, pastries, snacks, and hygiene products are also available weekly. Grocery offerings rotate by week to ensure balanced selections and equitable distribution:
The Center offers a School Break Food Program. Clients with school-aged children can receive supplemental groceries that include 10 meals and five snacks per child for each break week.
Other services provided by the The Neighborhood Center are case management services, emergency referrals to community and government agencies offering assistance with housing, legal aid, counseling, healthcare, and more as well as educational programs for sustainable living.
These programs are designed to provide not just a handout, but a hand up—equipping clients with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable living.
Thanks to the generosity of organizations such as Beta Theta and the tireless work of the Neighborhood Center team, families throughout South Lake County are finding hope, help, and the tools they need to thrive.
