The Clermont Historical Society is happy to announce the 6th annual People’s Choice Dessert & Summer Drinks Challenge will be on Saturday, August 9th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Clermont’s Historic Village, 490 West Avenue. Once again, local vendors will provide the public with samples of their delicious treats free of charge. After everyone has had a chance to taste everything, they will get to vote for their favorite sweet and drink. Our guests determine the winners!
This year we are pleased to welcome back last year’s grand prize winner, Cookie Queen, as well as several other crowd favorites like The Foxy Whisk, The Crazy Apron and HTeaOIced Tea. Some new faces will also be with us this year including Mama T’s, Mission BBQ, Portello’s & Small Cakes.
Clermont’s Historic Village is open every Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Admission to the Village is free, however, a donation of $5.00 per person over 12 is requested. Docents are on hand to give tours or you can walk through the buildings at your own pace and listen to recorded messages.
If you are interested in the history of Clermont in particular or history in general, why not consider joining the Historical Society. Dues are only $25.00 for an individual or $35.00 for a couple. The Historical Society meets on the second Monday of every month in the Railroad Depot at the Village. The board meetings start at 6:00 PM and are open to the public. The next meeting is July 14.
