As we step into October, there’s a fresh sense of energy in Clermont—cooler evenings, community gatherings, and plenty of opportunities to connect, celebrate, and support great causes together.
We began the month with National Night Out—thank you to everyone who came out and helped make it a success! It’s always inspiring to see our residents engage with law enforcement and first responders in such a fun and meaningful way.
If you’d like to chat with me directly, I invite you to my next Lunch with the Mayor on Tuesday, October 7th at noon at Dim Sum House, 2440 E. Highway 50 in Clermont. It’s a relaxed, informal time to talk, ask questions, and enjoy lunch at a great local restaurant (attendees cover their own meals). Looking ahead, the November Mayor’s Lunch will be Tuesday, November 4th at Piesanos in Clermont, located at 1754 State Rd. 50, also at noon—mark your calendars!
October also brings awareness to an important cause: Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’m proud to share that our Clermont Fire Department is selling T-shirts, and our Police Department has limited-edition patches available for purchase. All proceeds support our local breast cancer foundation.
Later this month, we invite families to join us for some safe and spooky fun at Scaremont—Halloween on the Trail, happening on Tuesday, October 28 at Waterfront Park. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., children can trick-or-treat from local business and organization booths, enjoy carnival games, bounce houses, food trucks, and an outdoor screening of the movie Goosebumps. Don’t forget the costume contest for kids—it’s always a big hit!
There’s still time to enjoy our pools and splash park, too! The Arts & Recreation Center pools are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 5 p.m, until October 5th and the Splash Park is open Thursdays through Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm, through November 23rd weather permitting.
As always, I welcome your thoughts and questions. I’m available at City Hall on Monday or Wednesday mornings, or you can email me anytime at TMurry@ClermontFL.org. Your feedback helps us continue building a city we’re all proud to call home.
Thank you for staying engaged, and I look forward to seeing you around town this month!
— Mayor Tim Murry
