As we move into November, I’m reminded of how special this time of year is in Clermont, a season filled with gratitude, reflection, and community spirit.

On Friday, November 8, we invite everyone to join us for the City of Clermont’s Annual Veterans Day Parade, Tribute, and Celebration. I’m honored to serve as this year’s Grand Marshal of the parade, which begins at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Church and travels down Montrose Street to Waterfront Park. From 11 am to 4 pm, we’ll enjoy a full celebration featuring a Kid Zone, food trucks, vendors, and a vintage car show. At 12 pm, we’ll gather under the pavilion for a Veterans Tribute Ceremony featuring patriotic music, Echo Taps, a guest speaker, group performances, a rifle salute, and opening remarks from me. This is a heartfelt opportunity for our city to come together and show our deep appreciation to all who have served. For full event details, visit ClermontFL.gov/VDay.

As we honor our veterans, let’s also remember to make our voices heard. Election Day is November 4. I encourage everyone to vote and take part in shaping the future of our community.

If you’d like to meet with me personally, I invite you to Lunch with the Mayor on Tuesday, November 4 at noon at Piesanos, 1754 State Rte. 50 in Clermont. It’s a relaxed way to ask questions, share ideas, and enjoy lunch with neighbors. Each attendee covers their own meal. Looking ahead, our December Mayor’s Lunch will be at Outback Steakhouse, 1625 East Highway 50, at noon.

November is a time of gratitude and thanksgiving, and I’m truly thankful for each resident of Clermont. You are the heart of this city. As a reminder city hall and city buildings will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11th.

As we approach the holidays, I encourage everyone to shop and dine locally and take part in all the joy this season brings. And be sure to mark your calendars, Light Up Clermont kicks off December 5th with our annual tree lighting and street party in downtown Clermont and at City Hall Park. We’re thrilled that one of our very own, Olympic Champion Noah Lyles, will be there to pull the switch and light the tree, and the season! You won’t want to miss it.

As always, I’m available at City Hall on Monday or Wednesday mornings, or you can email me anytime at tmurry@ClermontFl.org. Your thoughts, questions, and suggestions help us continue to build a city we’re all proud to call home.

Wishing you a joyful, safe, and thankful November. Happy Thanksgiving.
