The City of Clermont will honor the service and sacrifice of America’s military heroes during its annual Veterans Day Parade and Tribute Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Highlander Building & Pavilion, 330 3rd St., Clermont, FL 34711.

The event is hosted in partnership with local veterans’ organizations and Clermont Main Street businesses, reflecting the city’s strong support for veterans and their families.

The Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and travel down Montrose Street toward downtown Clermont. The full parade route is available on the city’s website.

“Veterans Day is a time for all Americans to pause, reflect and honor those who have stood in defense of our nation,” said Robert Mock, a 28-year U.S. Navy veteran and member of the South Lake Florida Base of U.S. Submarine Veterans.

Mayor Tim Murry, a 22-year U.S. veteran, will serve as parade grand marshal and deliver opening remarks at the Veterans Tribute Ceremony, which begins at noon at the Highlander Pavilion. The ceremony will feature patriotic music, “Echo Taps,” an honor guard rifle salute and a guest speaker.

“Clermont’s veterans are a source of pride and inspiration,” Murry said. “This community is grateful for their courage, sacrifice and enduring service to our nation.”

Family-friendly activities will begin at 11 am., including a car show, kids play zone, first responder displays, raffles, food trucks and more. Proceeds benefit Clermont’s Veterans and First Responder Memorial.
