The Nest was alive with excitement on Saturday afternoon as Montverde Academy hosted its annual HoopsMania celebration, tipping off what promises to be another thrilling basketball season.

Fellow students, family members and people in the community attended the event for an afternoon for what was filled with school spirit, friendly competitions and entertainment.

The event started with a musical performance by The School of Rock of Clermont, followed by the Star-Spangled Banner performed by the Lower School Choir.

Then the introduction of the boys and girls’ national basketball teams, giving fans a first look at the talented student-athletes who will represent MVA this season. The crowd was treated to an action-packed lineup that included a dunk contest, three-point shootout, and skills challenges, along with a mixed scrimmage featuring both rosters.

After the event, members of the teams posed for pictures and signed autographs for the fans.

Between the electric performances, big dunks, and sharpshooting displays, HoopsMania showcased not only the athleticism of MVA players but also the passion and support of the Eagle community.

Both teams start their regular season schedules later this month, with the girls opening at home on Tuesday, November 18 against Lake Highland Prep at 6:00 pm and the boys squaring off against Southeastern Prep at the Miami Tip-off on Friday November 21 at 7:30 pm.
