The Clermont Police Department hosted the first scheduled “Stuff A Cruiser” event on December 3rd at Walmart, 1450 Johns Lake Road. The annual event is a collaborative effort with the CPD and the community to collect new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages in Clermont. The toys are dispersed to families that the officers are familiar with in areas of need.
The toy drive also provides an opportunity for the police officers to interact in a positive manner with the community members of all ages. Shoppers and children, along with their parents, stopped by the donation booth to not only drop off a toy but also enjoy a few holiday sweet treats and take advantage of a photo opportunity with the officers and the patrol car that was set up in true holiday fashion.
The CPD will be hosting two additional “Stuff A Cruiser” opportunities in the coming days. The next day of giving is scheduled for December 8th, from 3-6 pm at the Belk Store, 270 Citrus Tower Boulevard. In support of bringing holiday cheer to our seniors in need, participants are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped items such as clothing, slippers, toiletries, and blankets to help fill the cruiser with gifts for our senior community members. The final collection event will be on December 15th, from 3 pm – 6 pm at Target, 2660 East SR-50. New and unwrapped toys will be collected for children in need.
Please contact Sgt. Erin Razo of the Clermont Police Department at 352-394-5588 or Erazo@ClermontFl.org if you would like to make a new item donation and cannot attend one of the remaining collection point dates.
