A beautiful array of twinkling lights shimmered along the shores of Lake Minnehaha and Lake Minneola as the Annual Clermont Christmas Lighted Boat Parade, organized by the Elks Club’s for the “Boating for the Kids,” projects set sail on Saturday, December 6th.

Participants lined up at dusk on the west side of Lake Minnehaha near Cypress Cove before circling the lake counterclockwise, then proceeding to Lake Minneola for another counterclockwise circuit, concluding at the Lake Minneola Tiki Bar. Awards were presented for Best Lit, Best Theme, and Best Enthusiasm.

To qualify, boaters simply needed to donate one or more toys to Santa’s lead boat and display their assigned boat number when passing the judging docks. The lead boat—easily recognizable by its yellow flashing lights and a jolly man in a red suit—collected all donated toys. All funds raised will benefit Christmas Across South Lake, a program that provides Christmas gifts to more than 1,000 local children in South Lake County.
