The spirit of the season roared to life in Groveland as the Nam Knights of America Motorcycle Club wrapped up its 12th Annual Christmas at the Swamp Toy Drive, and this year’s event proved to be one of its most successful yet.
With chrome shining and hearts wide open, club members and supporters collected an impressive 1,200 toys, ensuring countless smiles on Christmas morning. The toys were distributed to Mascotte Elementary School and Tavares Elementary School, helping brighten the holidays for local students and their families.
But the giving didn’t stop there. More than 200 Christmas dinners—complete with ham, turkey, and all the traditional sides—were served, bringing warmth and comfort to those in need during the holiday season. The club also extended its support to local police departments, contributing to their toy drives and Shop with a Cop programs, further strengthening the bond between the community and law enforcement.
Founded in 1989 by Vietnam combat veterans, the Nam Knights of America Motorcycle Club has grown into a powerful force for good. Today, the organization boasts 84 chapters nationwide and one in Canada, united by a shared mission: to raise funds for disabled veterans and law enforcement officers while giving back to the communities they call home.
“Christmas at the Swamp” has become a beloved Groveland tradition, held every year on the second Saturday in December, and it continues to grow in impact and attendance. Open to the public and fueled by generosity, the event serves as a reminder that community spirit can be as strong as steel—and just as enduring.
As another holiday season comes to a close, the Nam Knights once again proved that giving back never goes out of style, and that the road to making a difference is best traveled together.
