There is always a good reason to visit the Florida Air Museum no matter what time of year.
This museum chronicals the history of Florida aviation through displays and presentations.
Located on the Sun ‘N Fun Campus, it is housed within the New Aerospace -Center of Excellence in Lakeland FL.
For those of you who attend the annual Sun ‘n Fun aviation extravaganza each year, you may already know where it is located.
There are two ways to get there, you can fly into Lakeland’s Linder International Airport ( KLAL ), or you can drive. If you chose to drive, set the GPS map in your vehicle to, 4075 James C. Ray Drive, Lakeland FL.
There is a small fee to get in to see everything or you can sign up for a membership and go anytime with friends and family for no additional cost.
They periodically change the displays and add new things, so when you go back the next time you can be sure to see something new.
It’s a great place to take the family to spend a few hours since there is something for all ages to see and do.

The museum tends to get overshadowed by the Sun ‘n Fun event or the activities that are going on in and around the Aerospace program. The museum by itself is a critical part of that program. It is open for business year around.
Both the museum and the Aerospace Center present monthly programs for the public.
Sun and ‘N Fun this year is April 14-19, 2026. Make sure to drop into the museum when you are there.

Two new things have been added to the nearby airport this year, a scheduled airline, and a terminal airport restaurant. Avelo Airline maintains a regular schedule to Lakeland. Check out online where they fly from and to.
The new restaurant called Sora Eatery is located on the second floor of the terminal. Here is a new place to fly to for those $100 Hamburgers . Call Ben, the owner, to make a reservation for your fly-in group or just drop in. ( 863-337-5587).
