The South Lake High School boys soccer team etched their name into the history books Tuesday night, capturing the program’s first-ever district championship with a thrilling 4–3 victory over Lake Minneola on the road.
The match went down to the wire, with South Lake sealing the win in the second overtime of an intense, hard-fought battle. The dramatic victory not only crowned the Eagles as district champions but also earned them a spot in the FHSAA State Tournament.
South Lake enters the regional quarterfinals as the 8th seed and will travel to Niceville to face the 1st-seeded Eagles on Friday, February 6.
Congratulations to the team on an incredible season—and best of luck as they continue their postseason run!
