The Lake Apoka West Shore Boat Ramp, located at 17710 Broad St., Montverde, will be closed on Monday, April 27, from 6 am through 6 pmand again on Tuesday, May 5, starting at 6 am through 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, for water mobilization of construction materials and equipment to Ferndale Preserve. There will be intermittent closures of the boat ramp throughout the project.
The Ferndale Preserve project includes the construction of a new observation tower, fishing pier, and kayak and canoe launch.
Lake County is partnering with the Town of Montverde to improve the Lake Apoka West Shore Boat Ramp after the Ferndale Preserve project is complete.
Patrons are encouraged to use the McDonald Canal Boat Ramp, located at 24600 County Road 448A, Mount Dora, as an alternative boat ramp and retrieval site for Lake Apopka.
