As the new school year approaches, local families are invited to take advantage of the annual Project Kid Connect Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway on Saturday, July 18, from 9 am to 12 pm at the South Lake District Office in Clermont, 15855 SR 50, Clermont.
Sponsored by the Lake County Sheriff’s Charities, Inc., the event is designed to help Lake County students prepare for a successful school year by providing free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last.
In addition to receiving essential back-to-school items, families can enjoy free food and beverages, the popular Dunk-A-Deputy attraction, fun activities for children, and more. Children must be present to receive a backpack.
The Project Kid Connect Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway has become a valued community tradition, bringing together local families, volunteers, and supporters to ensure students are equipped and ready for the first day of school.
Community members are encouraged to arrive early, as backpacks and school supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
