Orlando Cat Cafe, the nation’s first cat café to franchise and one of Central Florida’s most beloved destinations for cat lovers, will celebrate its 10th Anniversary on Tuesday, September 8, with a day of festivities honoring a decade of community impact, animal rescue, and unforgettable experiences.

As part of the celebration, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners will once again recognize the café’s extraordinary contributions by proclaiming September 8 as “Official Orlando Cat Cafe Day.” The designation celebrates ten years of helping thousands of shelter cats find loving homes while creating a one-of-a-kind destination where coffee, compassion, and community come together.

Since opening its doors in 2016, Orlando Cat Cafe, located at 532 Cagan Park Ave. Clermont,  has welcomed more than 240,000 visitors and helped more than 3,600 adoptable cats and kittens find forever families through its partnership with SPCA Florida. The café has become a model for combining business with social impact, inspiring communities across the country through its innovative franchise program.

“Our 10th anniversary is about much more than marking another year in business,” said Sandra Cagan, founder of Orlando Cat Cafe. “It’s a celebration of every cat adopted, every family created, every guest who has walked through our doors, and every supporter who believed that a business could truly make a difference in its community. We’re honored to have Lake County recognize this milestone once again.”

Guests are invited to join the anniversary celebration throughout the day and enjoy:

  • A special 10th Anniversary commemorative beverage available exclusively for the celebration
  • Complimentary refreshments
  • Raffles and prize giveaways throughout the day
  • Opportunities to meet Orlando Cat Cafe’s adoptable feline residents
  • A festive atmosphere celebrating ten years of community, compassion, and cat-filled fun

The anniversary celebration is open to the public, and cat lovers of all ages are encouraged to attend and help commemorate this historic milestone.  Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made at www.orlandocatcafe.com.

ABOUT SPCA FLORIDA

Founded in 1979, SPCA Florida is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization headquartered in Lakeland, serving all of Polk County and the surrounding communities. Dedicated to improving the lives of pets and people, SPCA Florida provides caring, compassion and hope to more than 4,000 homeless animals entering our doors each year. Simplistically, every $100 donated to SPCA Florida, or essentially the cost of an average adoption, equates to $3,000 worth of positive economic impact throughout Polk County, Central Florida, and the state. Additionally, we are proud of the fact that 91% of every dollar goes to program resources and helping homeless animals.
