Pumpkin Season is here!

Fall may still be hiding somewhere beyond the horizon, but pumpkin season has officially arrived.

With temperatures continuing to soar into the 90s across South Lake County, residents may not be reaching for sweaters anytime soon. Still, coffee lovers are embracing one of the surest signs that autumn is on the way — pumpkin-flavored drinks.

Starbucks officially launched its highly anticipated pumpkin lineup on Tuesday, Aug. 25, bringing back the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte and a menu filled with seasonal favorites. The return of the beloved PSL signals the unofficial start of fall, even if the weather outside feels more like the middle of July.

Across the area, coffee shops are rolling out their own autumn-inspired offerings, giving customers a chance to enjoy the flavors of the season while seeking refuge from the Florida heat.

While leaves may not be changing colors in South Lake County and temperatures remain firmly planted in summer mode, the arrival of pumpkin spice is a reminder that cooler days are eventually on the calendar.

Until then, residents can sip a Pumpkin Spice Latte, crank up the air conditioning, and pretend that fall has finally arrived.

After all, in Florida, pumpkin spice season often arrives long before sweater weather.
