Clermont Garden Club has chosen the home of Kathy and Dale Lorentz at 9423 Crenshaw Circle, Clermont to be the yard of the month for October 2026. Trees around the yard include a Southern Magnolia (magnolia grandiflora) and a large Golden Rain tree (koelreuteria bipinnata) or Chinese Flame tree, which is abundant with vibrant yellow blooms of fall. Other potted plants include Madagascar Periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus, family Apocynaceae), also known as Bright eyes, Cape periwinkle, Old Maid or Rose Periwinkle.
Kathy and Dale have got into the spirit of the season with a cheery display of pumpkins and mini scarecrows, alongside planters filled with Blue Oat Grass. Honeybees from a nearby hive actively buzz about the yard. This garden is being nominated as Clermont Garden Club’s Yard of the Month for its manicured appearance and neatness.
Clermont Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. If you would like to nominate your or your neighbor’s garden to be the Yard of The Month, send an email to clermontgardenclubinc@gmail.com.
