Get ready for a frightfully fun evening filled with costumes, candy and Halloween excitement! The City of Clermont and the Clermont Police Department invite families to celebrate Halloween at Scaremont – Halloween on the Trail, a free, family-friendly community event scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Clermont Waterfront Park (100 3rd St. Clermont).
This popular community celebration promises a spooktacular night of trick-or-treating, festive activities and family fun in a safe, welcoming environment. Children can visit decorated trick-or-treat stations hosted by the Clermont Police Department, local organizations and community partners while collecting candy and enjoying the Halloween spirit.
The fun doesn’t stop at trick-or-treating! Families can show off their Halloween creativity in the Creepy Clermont Costume Contest, participate in Halloween-themed activities and settle in for a special outdoor showing of Hotel Transylvania, beginning at 7 pm.
Show Off Your Halloween Style!
Costume enthusiasts of all ages are encouraged to dress up and participate in the Creepy Clermont Costume Contest. Whether you’re transforming into a princess, superhero, black cat, pumpkin or another imaginative character, this is your chance to show off your Halloween spirit!
Participation is free, and no advance registration is required. Simply stop by the City of Clermont tent to enter the contest.
Awards will be presented in two categories:
- Clermont’s Costume Champion — Best Costume
- Frightfully Fabulous Family — Best Family Costume
Costumes should be creative, fun and family-friendly — spooky is welcome, but overly frightening outfits should be left at home! Winners will be announced online and through the city’s social media channels following the event.
Community Partners and Vendors Invited to Join the Fun
Local businesses, organizations and community groups are encouraged to participate by hosting a decorated booth, distributing candy and helping create a memorable Halloween experience for hundreds of local families.
To ensure plenty of treats for everyone, participating exhibitors must provide a minimum of 2,000 individually wrapped pieces of candy for distribution at their booths. This requirement does not apply to food and beverage vendors.
A limited number of food and beverage vendor opportunities will also be available for those interested in serving refreshments during the festivities.
Organizations and businesses interested in sponsoring Scaremont can contact Cory Cody at CCody@Clermontfl.org for additional information.
Bring the kids, wear your favorite Halloween costume and get ready for an evening of treats, laughter and community spirit. With the City of Clermont and the Clermont Police Department helping lead the festivities, Scaremont is the perfect opportunity for families to celebrate Halloween together.
After all, Halloween is always a little more magical when the whole community joins in the fun!
